David Tucker joined CCR in May of 2007 with over 28 years of experience in a broad spectrum of senior care services. He serves as President & Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Mr. Tucker began his career in senior services in 1979 as a nursing assistant. After graduating from college in 1986, David was enrolled in an AIT program with one of Virginia’s largest providers of long term care services. Pursuant to his completion of the yearlong program and licensing as an Administrator, David began overseeing the day-to-day operations of a 194 bed nursing facility.
In 1989 David joined the largest provider of long term care services in the Commonwealth of Virginia and opened a new skilled facility. He later served as President of a non-profit organization in Northern Virginia where he oversaw the operations of a two hundred forty (240) bed skilled facility, an Assisted Living facility, DME supplier and Home Health agency operated by the same organization.
In 1999 he assumed control of the operations and was later promoted to the position of President and CEO of American HealthCare. David, along with a reformed Board, guided the company through an extensive compliance investigation by the Federal Government and was a key figure in securing the company’s future by assisting in the development of a Corporate Integrity Agreement between American HealthCare and the OIG.
In 2005 Mr. Tucker, along with two partners, formed a new Management company, several new operating entities and three real estate entities. He remains as an investor member of these holdings.
Mr. Tucker received a degree in Business Management from Radford University. He also studied Business Management at Richmond College in London, England. David currently serves on the the Board of Directors of The Virginia Health Care Association, as a Nursing Facility Representative on the Virginia Health Information Board (VHI) of Directors, and as a Friend of the CCCH Committee Member on the Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital (CCCH) Advisory Board. He is active in a number of civic and professional organizations.
