Why I stay……….

First, I would like to say I have been at Lee Health and Rehab Center for over 16 years working in the role of Business Office Manager. My job is to assist the residents with any banking needs and admission processes, accounts payable/receivable and overseeing the day to day duties of the business office assistant and receptionists. When I was a little girl, my mom would take me to the doctor. I was so impressed with the medical office and the interaction between the staff and the patients. I ended up choosing this profession after graduation and entered the field of business administration. My first job was working as an office manager in a medical facility with three surgeons and one general practitioner; a stepping stone leading me to where I feel I belong……a nursing home.

Nursing homes are so much more personable and I feel as though I am part of their family as they are mine. I look forward to helping our residents on a daily basis whether it is billing or just pushing them down the hallway and spending time with them. You see, I don’t see this just as an office job. I get to share our residents’ lives by spending time with them. Whether it is just being someone to talk to or going on a shopping trip to Walmart. There is one resident who always wants me to go with her and once we get to Walmart, she wants more than she has money for and I’ll buy the rest for her. That big hug I get from her is more than money can ever buy.

I have recommended Lee Health & Rehab Center to my family and anyone else I think might need a facility to receive therapy or just to call home.

I value my co-workers and my administrator who recognize me and I love the way our team works together to ensure all our residents have exactly what they need.”
