25 Years of Commitment
A lot can change in 25 years.
For CCR, that has meant expanding across Virginia, adapting alongside an evolving healthcare industry, and finding new ways to support residents, families, and employees.
Stephanie Perdue has had a front-row seat to much of that change.
As CCR’s Payroll Manager and a team member for most of the company’s 25-year history, Stephanie has watched the organization grow firsthand. But when she reflects on the years behind her, it isn’t how much CCR has changed that stands out most. It’s how much has stayed the same.
“I feel that Committed, Caring, Responsive means the same as it did from day one,” Stephanie said. “They put the service that is being provided to our residents first.”
Growing With Purpose
From three centers to 12, CCR’s growth has brought its care to more communities across Virginia. Along the way, the organization has navigated changes in healthcare, adopted new approaches, and continued looking for ways to improve the experience of patients, families, and staff.
For Stephanie, the willingness to evolve has always existed alongside something even more constant – doing what is right for residents and staff.
Whether that means introducing new rehabilitation equipment, finding new activities and outings for residents, or creating opportunities for employees to connect, improvement at CCR has always been about people.
“We are always trying to find ways to improve or enhance our service to the residents and staff,” Stephanie said.
It’s an approach she believes has helped CCR earn the trust in all of the communities it serves. Providing quality care is at the center of that trust, but so are the everyday experiences that create a sense of belonging within each facility.
Stephanie hopes residents, families and employees continue to experience what she describes simply as “the feeling of home, safety and friendship.”
The Moments That Make CCR
Some of the traditions Stephanie remembers most fondly aren’t major corporate milestones; they’re the moments that bring people together.
There’s the Cake Walk at The Woodlands, centers opening their doors to families around the holidays, and Home Office activities that bring departments together. These are just a few of the celebrations designed to keep spirits high and create a little more joy in each day. Those moments have become part of CCR’s culture, and Stephanie believes they are worth carrying forward.
The same spirit can be seen in CCR’s Shining Star program, which gives employees the opportunity to nominate colleagues who go above and beyond their regular responsibilities.
For Stephanie, being recognized by the people who work alongside you says something meaningful about both the individual and the culture surrounding them. It’s one example of how CCR’s mission is lived out not only through the care residents receive, but through the way employees support residents, families, and one another.
Looking to the Future
Twenty-five years of healthcare have brought significant change, and the years ahead will undoubtedly bring more. Stephanie has seen firsthand how quickly CCR can adapt while continuing to strive for better.
“We are always striving to be better and do the best we can each day,” she said of the organization’s journey.
Although her role doesn’t involve direct resident care, Stephanie sees her work as part of supporting the people who do. Looking ahead, she is excited to continue helping CCR employees meet their needs so they can uphold the standard of care residents and families have come to expect.
She also has confidence that CCR will continue adapting as healthcare evolves while preserving what has earned the organization its reputation over the past 25 years: its commitment to excellence.
When we asked Stephanie to describe CCR’s next chapter in three words, she chose compassionate, steadfast, and resilient, words that could just as easily describe the journey that brought CCR here.
Carrying 25 Years Forward
For Stephanie, being part of that journey has been something special.
“How lucky I am to have been a part of the growth of this company and experience it first-hand,” she said. “Seeing it go from three centers to 12, moving across the state of Virginia.”
The locations, technology, and healthcare landscape may look different than they did in CCR’s earliest years. But the foundation behind them remains familiar: care for residents, support for employees, strong relationships with families and communities, and a willingness to keep improving.
As CCR celebrates 25 years, Stephanie has a simple message for all of the employees, residents, and families who have helped shape that history:
“Thank you for your service, hold the course, and don’t be afraid of new challenges. Always strive to exceed expectations.”
