Celebrating 25 Years of Care: Commonwealth Care of Roanoke’s Anniversary

On Tuesday, October 20, Commonwealth Care of Roanoke gathered at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 25 years of caring for Virginia’s communities.
Friends, team members, and partners filled the Shenandoah Room for a luncheon honoring a quarter century of compassion, dedication, and quality care. It was a day full of reflection, gratitude, and celebration of everyone who has been part of the journey.
25 Years of Showing Up
Twenty-five years is a long time. It is thousands of mornings where nurses, aides, therapists, dietary teams, activities staff, housekeepers, and administrators walked through the doors of our centers ready to care for someone else’s loved one like their own.
Today, Commonwealth Care of Roanoke serves residents and families across 12 managed health and rehabilitation centers: Abingdon, Carriage Hill, Chase City, Dinwiddie, Dulles, Gainesville, Lee, Manassas, Potomac Falls, Radford, River View, and The Woodlands, along with our Roanoke home office. Every one of those centers runs on the same simple idea: treat every resident with dignity, deliver care with skill, and make each day a little brighter.
It’s Always Been About People
Ask anyone who has spent time in one of our centers and they’ll tell you the same thing. The care matters, of course, but what people remember is the people. The nurse who knows exactly how someone takes their coffee. The therapist who cheers a little louder with every step forward. The activities team turning an ordinary afternoon into something worth smiling about. The dietary staff who know every favorite meal by heart.
That is what 25 years really means. Not just a number, but a community of caregivers, residents, families, and partners who have built something worth celebrating.
