Resident Spotlight: Mrs. Bobby Sue Warren

  • Abingdon Health & Rehab Center

Mrs. Bobby Sue Warren has been at the Abingdon Health and Rehab Center a little over two months. She has been working hard in occupational and physical therapy to gain back strength in her right hip and leg. Bobby Sue feels like she has made “tremendous” improvements while being here, as she has completed all of her goals and is now able to put 100% of her weight back on her leg. She commends the therapy department for helping her reach these goals. Bobby Sue has really enjoyed getting to know the nurses, CNA’s, therapists, and the dining room and laundry staff. She especially enjoyed the activities staff and looked forward to reading the Daily Chronicles.

Bobby Sue grew up in Scott County, near Gate City, Virginia. In high school she was a cheerleader for the Blue Devils and also worked at JCPenney in Bristol. After graduating high school, she went to Virginia Intermont College to become an RN. Her second year of school she married her husband and got pregnant with her daughter!

Her family moved to Abingdon and she started her nursing career at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She then spent 9 years as a nurse at Dr. Roger Glover’s OBGYN office. After that she spent 32 years at Abingdon Ear, Nose, and Throat before retiring in 2009 with 47 years of experience. Bobby Sue always shared a smile and a “hello” to employees when making her way through the hallways. We will miss her here at the Abingdon Health & Rehab Center, but we wish her well as she returns home to her dog, Sheba!
